Creditstar Group

Blu Capital Partners advises Creditstar Group on a €25,000,000 Private Debt raise

Overview of the Company

  • Credistar Group (CS) is one of the leading Baltics consumer lending companies with pan-European presence. CS has an impressive operational track-record of growth and profitability thanks to their tech-driven credit underwriting and streamlined operations.

Overview of the Transaction

  • Blu Capital Partners advised CS on different growth funding structures including private debt and securitization vehicles

  • Management’s preferred structure was private debt funding for re-financing existing liabilities and for providing additional growth capital

  • Blu Capital Partners attracted interest for ~€100 million of private debt volume from international private debt investors at a competitive pricing

Importance of the Transaction

  • A significant private debt funding allows CS to consolidate its liabilities, hence reducing management time spent on investor relationships

  • Private debt also ensures CS with a stable, long-term capital base to weather the volatility in the consumer lending market

  • The private debt funding also allows CS to diversify its funding base further away from corporate bonds, P2P lending and direct lending

Blu Capital Partners’ Role

  • Blu Capital Partners acted as strategic and financial advisor to CS

  • Blu Capital Partners supported CS throughout the process from structuring to LOI and is currently advising on the transaction documentation

"We enjoyed working with Blu CP (Tudor Mafteianu) for exploring our capital raising options, including raising private debt capital and structuring a securitization vehicle. Blu CP guided us through the capital raising process and advocated on our behalf, articulating Credistar's unique positioning for growth and profitability. The breadth of their network, their FinTech expertise and their structuring know-how resulted in Blu CP attracting term sheets from a large number of international private debt investors."
